Meet Sally Conover, CASA's New Development Associate

Sally Conover recently joined CASA as a volunteer tutor to make a positive impact on the lives of children in foster care. The experience left an indelible mark, and the enthusiasm to contribute grew. The decision to add a development role within CASA was fueled by the desire to increase the impact.

Now working as the Development Associate, Sally's responsibilities are multifaceted. Her primary emphasis in the early days of her new role is learning and contributing to the development team. In the future, Sally wants to continue ensuring a high-quality database, running accurate and timely reports,  managing donor acknowledgment, and staying abreast of the latest developments in the database – all of which are at the core of this pivotal role. Being both a volunteer tutor and a Development  Associate signifies a deepening commitment to the organizational mission.

Drawing from a rich professional background working predominantly with international students, Sally brings a wealth of experience empowering individuals on their academic and career paths. While the populations may differ, the overarching goals and needs remain surprisingly similar, laying a solid foundation for success in her new role.

Reflecting on the impact of CASA's advocacy work for children in foster care, Sally sees it as nothing short of massive. The potential for transformative change in the lives of children in foster care is both inspiring and motivating.

Beyond the professional realm, Sally is a person who finds joy in the great outdoors. Hiking, biking, and exploring the Bay Area are complemented by a love for travel that knows no bounds. Sally is an open water swimmer who, in October, undertook a 7-day "swim vacation" in Kas, Turkey, navigating the pristine waters of the Mediterranean. This passion for open-water swimming unveils a tenacity beyond the professional arena.

Looking ahead, both personally and professionally, the goals are simple yet profound – to help people find their best selves and make meaningful, incremental differences. This commitment to personal growth and making a positive impact resonates with the values of CASA, creating a harmonious alignment between individual aspirations and organizational mission.

In welcoming our new Development Associate, we embrace not just an employee but a dedicated individual on a mission to contribute, learn, and make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.  As Sally embarks on this exciting chapter with CASA, we look forward to witnessing the positive ripples she creates in our community and beyond.
