Organization Description
CASA of Contra Costa County in Concord, CA recruits, trains, and supports volunteer advocates to be a strong voice for abused and neglected foster children in the courtroom, in school and in the community. The organization aims to ensure every child thrives in a stable home environment. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for these children and provide consistent support until they are placed in a safe, permanent home.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site Executive Director role at CASA of Contra Costa County. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing the organization's operations, managing staff and volunteers, fundraising, community outreach, and ensuring the program's effectiveness in supporting abused and neglected children in foster care. The Executive Director will be mission-driven, lead with passion, integrity, and will ensure the long-term success and sustainability of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of CASA of Contra Costa County and the oversight of more than 12 employees (and 300 volunteers) providing essential outreach, policy, advocacy, and training.
- Manage and grow annual budget of $2.3 million and develop and implement innovative strategies to support organizational mission, vision, long-term success and sustainability.
- Assess organizational risks and benefits and make informed, timely decisions that align with the organization’s strategic goals and long-term vision.
- Develop and cultivate innovative partnerships to engage in opportunities that advance the mission of CASA and make a positive impact on the welfare of foster youth.
- Hire, supervise, mentor, develop, and evaluate members of the staff.
- Lead strategic planning and organizational change processes, with focus on optimal outcomes.
- Assure that CASA has a strong, positive presence with funders and the community.
- Ensure that CASAs mission, vision, core values, and services are represented in an accurate and compelling manner to funders, partners, donors, government representatives, and the community.
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Experience in program management and nonprofit administration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to fundraise and cultivate donor relationships
- Knowledge of child welfare and advocacy
- Experience working with volunteers
- Strong public speaking and communication skills
- Ability to analyze financial data, interpret trends, and make informed recommendations
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, public Administration, nonprofit management, or related field
- A minimum of 5 – 10 years of experience in a leadership role in non-profit or human services organizations
Compensation:
Annual salary of $103,751 to $160,000. Additionally, health, dental, vision, acupuncture/chiropractic care, sick leave, holiday pay and paid time-off (PTO) benefits are also offered.
